Anyday is Good Enough to Be a Sunday

For the last couple of months, my cleaning business has been running me ragged. I live in a very rural area. However, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, this place is hopping! We go from just above ghost town activity to that of a concert arena in the blink of an eye.

Last summer, I worked seven days a week. Weekdays, Monday through Friday, I worked in construction; and weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, I cleaned with a friend of mine who has her own cleaning business. Last year, we cleaned on Chincoteague Island, Virginia every weekend. It was rough and the pay sucked. So, I vowed that this summer I would not be working for peanuts on that island! Instead, I already had a couple of full-time clients whose higher-end homes I clean either bi-weekly or monthly. During the off-season, that gives me one week of cleaning gigs with the next week being online work and everything that I need to catch up on at home. With the season in full swing, I don’t get days off, let alone weeks. So, here I am playing catch up after two months of steady cleaning…

So, to go inline with my title, today is our Sunday (even though it’s actually Tuesday) in the Powell and Mason house. When you can’t get a Sunday off, it’s always important to make sure you make another day your Sunday. We haven’t had a Sunday for months now. So, I’m making this one count! 🙂

My middle son, Emory Reuben, and my youngest daughter, Sarah Drucilla, just had birthdays. Emory turned 19 on May 28th, and Sarah turned 18 on June 11th. Typically, we do their dinners and cakes separately; but we’re going BIG this year ? We’re having a combined party to include the celebration of Sarah’s high school graduation this year! Even though I’ve been working hard, I’ve also had a lot to celebrate lately ? So, here we go…

The turkey is in the oven. Laundry is going, (Because I’ve had to either wear clothes that I really don’t like or recycle clothes the last two days due to not having the time and/or strength left at the end of the day to do laundry.)

I’m about to hop in the shower and head off to the grocery store. Next up is the making of two yummy cheesecakes! ? The house will be full for dinner and dessert at 5 🙂

I want to wish everyone an AMAZING day, with the reminder to make sure you schedule a Sunday, every week, on whatever day, on your own terms 😉

With Love, Light, & HUGE Hugs,

  1. Yes, I think it’s always good to just take any day to be Sunday, as long as you can take a good rest and enjoy yourself! Hope you are doing good in your cleaning business. 🙂
