Training for Detroit Marathon

With the assistance of ‘Just draw it’ application I mapped out this Saturdays run with my turn around being Oak Street Beach, but ended up going beyond turning around at North Avenue Beach which was 1 mile over. In the future I would like to continue to map out my routes as I did for this run because it just adds that extra motivation to accomplish the distance I set out to do which was 15 miles in this case.

The fun part about this run was merging in with the ‘Run Mag Mile‘ runners near Millennium Park, mingling in and running with them until they veered off on the Lakefront Path. Many of the runners were slower than I, but it felt great to dumb my pace down a little, especially while on a long run.

I felt great during this run despite not getting in any runs throughout the week due to putting sleep ahead of training. This week I also gave it thought that I would like to look for a treadmill or elliptical in order to get the workouts in in-between overnight work schedule.

For next weekends run, if I do not run the half marathon I would like to go 18 miles being that I ran 16 miles this weekend.

I am excited for the Illinois Fighting Illini vs Conneticut Huskies game this weekend because I actually get to watch it entirely.
