I am often discussing rimlighting and core shadows, but I’ve never actually defined them and some of you may not know what I am talking about, so I’ve opted for some demystification here…

the highlight is also known as a hotspot when it is very pure and you know I like strong values, so most of my highlights are also hotspots...
reflected highlights are also called bounce lights when they come from the environment. when they come from an actual light source, they're rimlights
