Once again, I am trying out the background before settling on the foreground. This is way outside of my comfort zone, but I will just find a way to deal with the discomfort and push on
At any rate, here are three versions of the stairway. I hope you enjoy them
doesn’t leave much to the imagination
I suppose you could be right…
I would #1 looks more lively.
thanks for weighing in, I also think the first one is the place to start
Basically, this background is really cool. If just enjoying this work as a whole piece with no-frills as background, I like # 1, but as a background, of course, have to adjust to the model, later on.
which is why I prefer to do the figure first and the background later…
I think it is the right process
but that only works if I already have a background to drop in
Maybe you can use both hands to create both simultaneously.
I love the title. I love all of them.
You really like the title? It was just a placeholder
I like the first one. I want to go explore that building!! I have my camera ready! Lets go!
I don’t like the contrast on the second as much as the first. The third one is my second pick, it looks like youve found the filter I used for the Palomar Mountain shoot. Nicely done. I also would like to vote on Goth. Grins. I know you probably prefer the cyberpunk. Ah heck both would be great. Is it finished yet? I cant wait for this one.
I wouldn’t have suggested a goth if I didn’t wanna do a goth. You will get to see more of that building (and there is much more to see) but I don’t have a timeline on that yet…
I like the second one the most. The graffiti on the walls is a great touch!
I love adding graffiti to urban settings, it gives the piece a touch of verisimilitude
10 cent word verisimilitude. Nicely done. Now let’s apply the meaning of that word, verisimilitude, to all politicians! 🙂
Love the piece Alex, and it is truly authentic with the graffiti!
today’s politicians don’t even seem to be honest, let alone actually serving the will of the populace
First, it’s best..dark, mysterious ..You are standing and wondering whether to go further into the unknown? You feel fear, but you’re curious..What’s up there? And then you go to the unknown ..You could show us, in the next picture, what’s at the top of the stairs.
and someday, I will show you what is at the top of the stairs…
Okay, I’ll wait..I hope there is nothing terribly gone up there.
I honestly don’t know what is up there yet…
Okay, I expect some surprise from you.
I like the last one. It is dark and forbidding. I don’t know if I would want to up these stairs. . .
but what if that is the only way out?
I think #1 is the best one. It’s overall mood reflects the subject matter the best. Nice find.
please look forward to future installments
First I thought #2 was my favorite, but then after I looked at #3 I think I like it better.
I can see I am going to need to do a poll for this one, too…
I prefer the harsher version of this one. But that is because it seems more realistic, and I am almost always for realism.
a gritty approach is usually complimentary to a dystopian vibe
I like the way you talk, especially when you spell complimentary right. Yayy!
do I often spell it wrong? my spelling is atrocious
Sometimes I spell a word correctly and the computer changes it to something wrong after I have already pressed the send button.
I will wait breathlessly to see what lies at the top of the gritty stairs.
don’t hold your breath- it might be a while…
OK, I’ll breath while I wait, then.
I am concerned about constructive discussion in the comments.
I do not understand your comment. Do you find friendly banter distracting?
I got a comment out of context. I wanted a “reply” to previous comments. It looks a bit ungainly. I did not want to do the damage, sorry.
Varda42 This has happened to me so I understand now. No worries! Too bad we do not have a way to edit our comments for say 10 or 15 minutes after each reply because I have made many mistakes.
No worries varada, it happens to the best of us
I would have to go with the softer one, #2. Great job as always.
the soft filter lens would probably suit a goth better
I love this one!! Can’t tell why but clicked on it immediately when I see it
it is good to know that my work has an ineffable quality
