This is a New Zealand Saddleback I photographed at the Auckland Zoo.
It is native only to New Zealand and it talks as it is by people, in bird language.
It forages on the ground and on tree trunks and is very vulnerable to predators, so it is only kept in New Zealand bird sanctuaries.
Here it is probably finding food in this tree trunk.
Having a great singing voice for a bird is called in America for a female artist who can sing a songbird.
Well that seems logical! Thanks Deepizzaguy
In the era of the 1960s and 1970s it meant something. These days it is a joke with some artists who use nasty lyrics in their songs these days.
Thanks so much Tasartcraft, it was a lucky shot.
Special bird in a special photo, Pamela.
Thanks Albert, glad you like it.
You have many exotic birds in New Zealand. This looks like nature has decorated it in complementary colors. A very beautiful bird.
Thanks so much Elenka, we do have many exotic birds here.
Another great shot of a bird. In your country, they live really beautiful birds.
Thanks Vidocka glad you like the NZ Saddleback
Who knows, perhaps he was trying to carve a love letter to another bird :p
