This is a New Zealand Saddleback I photographed at the Auckland Zoo.
It is native only to New Zealand and it talks as it is by people, in bird language.
It forages on the ground and on tree trunks and is very vulnerable to predators, so it is only kept in New Zealand bird sanctuaries.
Here it is probably finding food in this tree trunk.
Having a great singing voice for a bird is called in America for a female artist who can sing a songbird.

In the era of the 1960s and 1970s it meant something. These days it is a joke with some artists who use nasty lyrics in their songs these days.
