This time of the year the sunsets are a little more challenging to get. But I managed to get this one to share with you as the sun was setting. So peaceful to watch the sun go down behind the trees. A peaceful end to the day. My sunset therapy. I enjoy it all year. No matter the views, the clouds, I enjoy each one I can see. Sunsets give me hope, for another day. No matter what our situation or mindset is, watching a sunset can bring peace. If only for a few moments.

I always liked the old saying:
Yesterday has already happened.
Tomorrow isn’t promised.
Today is the present, open and enjoy it!
Yes indeed Doc that is so true. We have to keep moving ahead and enjoying the moments.
One of the reasons I love your garden posts, present!
All of the above + videos like these – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46pM5V00mv4 – bring me hope for another day.
Thanks for sharing the links. I will take a look.
Sunsets, writing, art, photography, my family…..those are all that give me hope for another day.
Wonderful photograph!!
That is a great list Courtney. Thanks for the comment and compliment.
being addicted to art, I always have something to look forward to…
That is a good addiction to have.
I don’t know about that, but I am certainly not going to rehab to fight it…
I meant it could be worse, it can always be worse.
As far as addictions go, exceedingly mild to the point of being beneficial. But it still haunts my every waking moment
Thanks for reminding me again always to be grateful in whatever circumstances are. An inspiring post.
Thank you Pam for the visit and the words! I hope things are ok with you.
I agree with Robert’s words of wisdom.
Yes they are a powerful message.
In spite of the fall, drinking in the beauty of the earth is definitely one of the hope giving graces God has given to people. You have reminded me of this hymn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHIfRLNYUGw
Trusting God When Life Hurts (by J. Bridges) is just one of the printed resources that help encourage when suffering tries to make us hopeless. Some others are Suffering and the Sovereingty of God (J. Piper) and Beyond Suffering (L. Talbert).
Though hymns and writings of others who understand suffering better than I do have been huge helps, keeping my hands open before God, telling Him I do not understand but I want His help to trust Him as He asks me to, remembering that His ways are not only not ours but that His ways are as big and wide as His omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence, and letting these things drive me to prayer have saved my life and sanity. In the face of heartbreak upon heartbreak He has remained faithful, merciful, powerful to renew hope and give growth.
His salvation is for both this life and for eternity and I am grateful for the substance filled hope He provides: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86D4p-GTLIs
How beautiful, both videos. Thank you so much for your encouraging and inspiring words. I enjoyed both links and your words have made my day.
Beautiful, I watched both you tube videos. Great. Thanks.
I am almost never awake to see a sunrise but I take joy in seeing the sunset often.
Same here, I love the sunsets from my deck.
I love a good sunset. I think I love a good sunrise even better.
I love them both probably equally, they both offer hope.
The Sun is life, after all, right?
Indeed Donald, I agree with you.
I just happen to love sunrises because of all the Winter days I have waited to see the sun come up and warm me. Yup. I love a good sunrise.
