In Carol's Garden ~ Lily

My Day Lilies are growing. I have talked about them before. Now they are in full bloom. One bloom a day. So cool to see these bright yellow flowers. They are like sunshine. And they are perennials. Which means, you cut them all the way back to the ground at the end of the summer. You can also transplant them, to make more flowers. Then in the spring, they magically come back. I try to have only evergreen trees and bushes, and perennial flowers. The maintenance is a lot less and the cost. You don’t have to buy new plants each year.

    • Thank you Bradley, it is a warm color. The sun was shining brightly, I thought maybe too bright for the photo but it seemed to have turned out ok.

  1. Gorgeous and it surely smells nice too? I am never in one place for a full growing season, and my yards are at some distance from one another (and about the size of postage stamps) I still love to garden. This summer for the first time in many years I am going to get to visit my grapevine while it is still fruiting, yayy!

    • Thanks Ann. I would love to have a grapevine. I remembering growing up we always had Muscadine and bullaces that grew on a vine like grapes.

      • Mine was a volunteer. My cousin was trying to dig up a root cutting from my late uncle’s gorgeous fig tree and he cut into a dormant grapevine instead. I over-wintered the root in a box of sand and come spring little leaves came out and they were not fig!
