It’s that time, it’s that time again
Chimes are playing in the wind
Fairy lights are lighting up the sky
Elves are scurrying about
Decorating the last gifts
Santa is dry-cleaning his suit
Someone forgot the Christmas cake’s fruit
Watching quietly in a corner
All the festivities going around
Christmas Joy and Holiday Cheer
Everyone’s plans are getting into gear
Can’t help to feel the mood
Holiday mood building up inside
But also feeling a tiny bit of sadness
How much of this Holiday Cheer
Is actually true
Is actually pure
Yes, another hard year is gone
New beginnings, new horizons
But how many still celebrate the true meaning
The true reason
The biggest gift the whole world would ever receive
Jesus Christ being born
Very nice Della, I like your approach. Smooth, subtle and smart. Most of us love the festivities, but how many understand the real meaning.
Thank you very much Bradley. And the sad thing is, we used to go to church on Christmas morning, I don’t even know if they still do that.
This beautiful poem warms up the approaching Christmas atmosphere with its trolley, new numbers, and new spirit
Thank you Albert. I love this time of the year and Christmas.
You are very much welcome, Della. May you enjoy the rest of the day of 2017 in a great way.
Thank you very much. And the same blessings to you and your family.
Pleasure is mine, Della
This is great Della. I think there are many who have forgotten the true meaning.
That is very true. It has become commercialised.
How timely! Isn’t a perfect opening salvo for the first day of the month?
I thought so too. Had to wait 2 weeks before I post it.
Amen! Yes Jesus Christ being born is the best gift of all. Great post
Thank you my friend. We need to remind ourselves every day. Not only during Christmas time.
