I would like to extend the Sea animal post with the next animal, which is Sea Urchin. Sea Urchins are globular and spiny animals found in the sea bed and sea reef. They have different sizes and colors and their spines also differ in different species.
These spines are their defense mechanism to protect themselves from the predictors. Some fish eat these urchins, They try to open the Urchin where the spines are less. The spine of some urchins are dangerous to humans too, the Venum can be fatal sometimes.
These animals can be found at the Kenyan’s shore. We have seen a lot on our trip there.

Some parts of the Philippines are abundant with sea urchins. Occasionally, see some on our beach. But quite rarely.
They say the inside of the sea urchins is quite deliscious.

Never seen one in person, only on documentaries. Incredible!
This looks unusual, and you will not like to step on it. But you can carefully hold one.

i stepped on one when we lived in Thailand, my foot was swollen and red for two days!
I did the same in Sinai many years ago. I was on my back for several days 😮
i was 11, and had to sit in a deck chair with my mother for two days.

I also remember being the unwilling witness to such interminable boring conversations between grownups when I was a kid!
it is why i do that to my kids now!

it was 40 plus years ago, I have recovered and learned to stay away from Urchins!
We have something like sea urchins but not fatal, called Kina, the Maoris eat it and other people, I don’t care for the smell of it..
It is not always fatal, But it is dangerous.
