There are a few Pukakos in this creek and here is a Pukako.
Weird as it is a New Zealand or Kiwi saying is , “Up the Waps! Shooting Pukakos!” Rarely have I seen Pukakos flying or in a tree!
Let me assure you, Pukakos fly and I have seen them in trees for the first time here in Buckland’s beach
During lockdown 4 we are allowed to go for walks in our own backyard, which is a mercy. We have to stick to the same area, keep 2 metres apart from anyone else. All of us have to stay home and only allowed out to go shopping for essential items and essential needs or go for a walk for exercise.
Today is a day where our Govt decides if we go into Lockdown 3, because our covid 19 infections are lessening. I believe our PM Jacinda Ardern is making all the right decisions. I have faith that she will make the right decisions and if she does go into lockdown 3 with only a few less restrictions, I believe she will have made the right move.
This virus is very nasty and right from the word it came on our door step, Jacinda got into action to conquer this virus.

Wonderful reflection. The situation in our country is similar to yours. We are in lockdown. Fortunately, I live in the countryside so I can walk.
What a gorgoeus bird and shot. We are under a stay at home order, but we can still go for walks if we practice social distancing of 6-10 feet. Enjoy your walks, I am going on one today.
That is about all we are allowed too. Next week if the Govt decide to go to Lockdown 3 we may be allowed to drive a bit further but not too far and keep our social distance.
I hope this happens soon Pamela.
i suspect this virus is a huge wake-up call. Stay safe, and be careful!!!!
So true, I don’t think I am the only one who isn’t in shock from the outset of this virus, but there are some advantages, Thanks Doc.
many have been worried something like this would happen for many many years.
i was wandering the site and came back to your picture. i wonder if the reflection of the world now, is different than it was 4 or 5 months ago.
Jacinda Arden is a smart lady, unlike many other heads of state she was fast to act. That God for leaders like her.
Totally agree, I am so relieved she is NZ PM she is such a sensible woman. Thanks Dawn.
Yes we have been relax since yesterday
Is that good news? Do you live with restrictions.?
This is a perfect reflection photo
We are in lockdown 2 and it is hoped some restrictions will be removed in some areas after about a week.
Next week we may be in lockdown 3 but it won’t be much different from lockdown 4
Such a beautiful photo and I love the reflections. Walks are not allowed apart for dog owners and only to certain places.
We have fewer people than in Europe and so no danger of anyone else.
We have what is called a stay at home order. Only essential outing to the grocery store, pharmacy, and walks in our neighborhoods. All parks are closed. But there is plenty of room here to walk in the neighborhood.
Love learning about the Pukakos, he is beautiful. Similar to the peacock perhaps.
We have few people in our parks and its wise to walk out in the open in any of our parks. Parks are free . Most parks there are some which are designed for dogs to run free but mostly dogs have to be put on a lead and their poo put inside a plastic bag.
Thanks Carol
