I had written a post about how we had to bring down the garlic vine that had killed our guava tree. It was a show stopper sort of and had grown beautifully with loads and loads of flowers.
I took a cutting and trained it on our dead fig tree stump. Happy to see it growing and we had the first cluster. This vine picks up quickly and so I am not much disappointed that I had bring down our earlier vine They are pretty clusters and stay on the vine for days.
This is how our old vine looked before it was brought down’

Yes, some changes have occurred here, the arrangement of our lounge
Did that result in getting rid of old furniture and going for something new?
I got rid of old furniture and found something else…
Such a beautiful plant, I have never seen it. I have noticed that some of the most beautiful plants are quite invasive.
It is no doubt beautiful but it killed one of our trees.
Honeysuckle vines I have are invasive but I enjoy them.
As long as they do not destory anything around I suppose you can tolerate them.
Vines can grow out of control if they’re not pruned and directed.
We have another one that does the same thing.
Plants as part of the natural world grow as they are, but humans have an interest, so we must do what is important and needs to be done, as long as we maintain balance.
But I keep looking at that video that brings back memories.
Beautiful memories are good for inspiring and strengthening the spirit!
Sometimes difficult decisions have to be made … but if it’s new now, it’s good to hear
What we have lost will never come back. That was a seasoned vine.
Must have been a tough decision to bring down the garlic vine for a nature lover. But we need to do this at times for some considerations.
You will see in that video clip how robust that vine was. But hard decisions have to be taken.
I can understand how hard it must be for nature lovers to bring down their own creation.
Does the garlic vine also grow garlic that you can eat?
Garlic grows in tiny plants and underground. This is a flower vine and the leaves smell of garlic But there are health properties too.
I love the garlic vine for its multicolored flower bunches. Glad you have a new one growing. Mine is kind of stunted because it is in a container.
I did not know they come in different colours. I have only seen it in this colour. What I brough down was robust and packed with flowers. That video has it.
Oh no I don’t want to misguide you. I was taking about the bunches having different shades ranging from lavender to white as the grow older
Interesting. Yes I already visited the food fastival
