I surprised myself with 10 on 10. There were some words which looked strangely close to French words. Maybe that is why I passed the quiz with flying colors.
Well done. You are right – there are a lot of loan words. We have the Norman Conquest to thank for much of that.
I even gave up your Bb quizz mid way. This one I do not even want to try. Never heard of these words ever (lol)
That’s the whole point! The object of the exercise is to work out what the words are most likely to mean.
