Spirits and cocktails: a quiz

What’s your poison? In my case, a quick G&T hits the spot quite nicely, and I’m not averse to a drop of single malt whisky, but apart from that I’m rather unadventurous when it comes to alcoholic beverages!

However, your knowledge of weird and wonderful drinks might be considerably greater than mine – or at least than mine was before I started researching questions for this quiz! Why not have a go – you might find that eliminating unlikely answers is the best way of find the correct one – and tackling the quiz while completely sober is probably to be advised!

Good luck! Hic! (sorry)

  1. Hey I got 9 out of 10 right, but Lady Luck was definitely blowing into my sails 😉 😉 The last one was the one I tripped on. I have to point out that your ‘correct’ answer isn’t correct (Agave is not a cactus) but that’s not the reason I got it wrong: I thought the agave was used only for flavouring rather than providing the base.

      • In my late teens, a girlfriend brought a bottle of the stuff into the cinema, together with the requisite salt and lemon. It was quite fun, but I remember nothing from about halfway through the film till the next morning. I won’t be trying that again!

    • If it’s any consolation, neither am I! However, I did think that I’d put in enough “unlikely” alternatives to help boost people’s scores!
