# Quiz: Measuring Units (Part 2)

Units of measurement – we use them all the time, usually without even thinking about it. Though the USA and the UK are still using pre-metric units, the rest of us have, for the most part, moved on. This quiz will measure  your knowledge of units, both metric and non-metric; it will plumb the depths of your memory, and weigh up the results! Feel free to share your results in the comments below. Have fun ?

This is Part 2 of a multi-part quiz. You can find Part 1 here.

1. Ha! Got the perch wrong; thinking of measurements and forgot the fish. But 10/11 is pleasing. Thanks.

• Oh that perch! I remember both the measurement and the fish from very early days. Learning stuff like that off by rote in primary school, and going canal fishing with my dad 🙂 Great score though!

• 10 minutes on the Step of Shame should sort you out 😉 Only kidding! Five’s not that bad – thanks for playing, Samantha 🙂

2. 9/11. Should have been better. But I had not heard of perch before 🙂 Excellent quiz, the type I enjoy most.

• I think you enjoy the same kind of quizzes as I do 🙂 That’s an impressive score. There might be enough material for a part 3, but it will surely be full of more obscure terms!

• Hey, tell admins that part three, no one can comment on it. It leads to a database error. Also check you number two question, is it supposed to read Acre? 😉 And yes, the acre/foot is a measurement, when I had done the outline for the story, I thought i had forgotten to take the feet part out, Now I know and I did get the question correct. Thanks.

• Okay great, im sure they will fix it soon.. . An ARE,,. Good thing it was the same measurement in acre lol !!

• I’ve no idea why I typed “May” 😮 Oh yeah, I meant “My” 😀

• lol, I wondered, but it wasnt worth asking. great typo!

• Yes, in fairness, though it didn’t occur to me when I made it. It’s where we derive the word hectARE from 🙂

3. You got me on the last one, I got Freshwater fish, I should have known you would throw one left handed monkey wrench question in. Arrghh. Almost got my second perfect score.

Oh well…

• So close! And there was me thinking I’d made the last one easy by adding the smiley 😉

4. I got 8/11 Nice Quiz! Norman..

5. 6/11 This was a lot of fun and a good brain exercise!

• Very nice, Andrew! The last one was meant to be easy – didn’t you spot the smiley face??!

6. You got 10 out of 11 right!

Perfect. You rock!

• Perch was interesting! I never heard of that one…

• You never heard the word for any of those meanings? I always knew the fish (I used to fish with my dad in the canals hereabouts) and I had to learn those archaic length units as a kid in school!

• The fish was the only one I knew! The measurements were all new to me.

7. 9 out of 11. I’m surprised, I’m not good at science, haha.
