Doubtless you’ve already seen some of my illustrations of Zhu Bajie, but I’ve provided you a link to one of them anyway, and as usual, using the same naming convention to avoid confusion

I decided to go to the forest … I like everything that is connected with the forest
I hope you enjoyed your stroll through my forest
Yes, Alex, it was a wonderful walk
How glad I am to hear you say so
Looks like almost nobody saw the movie or read the book. ?
I like the traditional ones, Sumi and Release. ?
Which is crazy, since there have been so many film adaptations of JttW. I was very pleased when I came up with the idea of a scroll background…
Bamboo was my choice, great job again.
it is an interesting background choice, I may use it somewhere else in the future
My tendency is between forest and release, but then I vote for the forest.
forest has a nice majestic sense of scale
Release is very classic and appropriate while the forest has a special appeal in my eyes.
I really do like that background and will doubtless use it somewhere else
I like the one that looks like the sun is shining through, but the last one suits his character more.
it was a tough decision for me, a lot of things to like about each of them
Love the release version, awesome!
I was quite pleased with that result
I know this character, Zhu bajie, but I don’t like him.
how can you dislike someone you don’t even know?
My favorite is relaxation
then I hope you have a relaxing day
I agree with Pamela below. Great illustration especially with the bamboo (although I doubt that pigs eat that). But can you explain what it is exactly? I am totally ignorant concerning that mythological character.
Journey to the West is a Buddhist legend about how the sutras came to China. There are four main characters, one of whom is a man who was reincarnated with a pig’s head. He struggles with his base nature. As you might imagine, there is a good deal of allegory in the tale…
Thank you for your quick answer. Are you on Virily 24 seen? (Just a joke). I will have to read that book one of these days. It sounds very spiritual…
It is actually a tale for children, they enjoy the fun story and then later adults can say “Don’t be like Zhu Bajie- remember what happened to him?” but it certainly has clear moral lessons, so I suppose it could be considered spiritual…
Thank you for the clarification.
Great illustrations, I chose the Bamboo as the best one
the background strikes a good balance between abstract and representational…
