    • I love doing that! In the program I use for editing they have some preset tabs. One is it makes it look old and cracked. I love those kinds. Thank you Thomas!

  1. yeah, black and white photos look more simple and basic, like the past.it brings out the essence of the characters or subject. color adds vibrancy, playfulness, and it just looks fun, like confetti. it is fun to use both color and b&w film so the photos in the album have more dimension to bring out more sides to the particular event or occasion.

    • True.. I love looking at old photos! I just recently found a wildlife hard cover book with photos by National Geographic, its amazing what was good back then. We have come a long way. Thanks for commenting!

  2. Great post, fantastic poll! Very good questions to think about….i love black and white photography. I think some photos are better in color of course….it all just depends on all the different elements. Taking them in black and white is great if possible, but editing them later works too!

    • Thank you Courtney, the pros say to use color film then edit later, you will get more tone than just shooting in black and white. I don’t know for sure, just what I have heard. I havent tried it straight out of the camera. Straight out of the camera, that could be another theme!

  3. To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of black and white photography, because I love colors too much. However, I loved all the photos you shared. I agree that black and white works great for portraits and close ups. 🙂

    • I wasn’t either at first. I love color!!! You know that. lol. Portraits are awesome because you can feature the expressions better, or it brings them out better that is.

    • True I agree. That’s one thing I wouldnt of never of guessed before I started taking pictures. That a black and white flower could be beautiful. Another great comment and thank you.

  4. Black and white architectural photos are striking to me because the hard surfaces and lines are highlighted in ways that feature the details, inspiring thinking about how a building was built and what materials were used.
