Weird ~ 365 Photos Challenge #185

After a whole day spending time discussing a few things related to the client’s business, I still talked to some of the management members at night. After talking about work, some people still ask for a little discussion about life.

In order to change the atmosphere and become more informal and relaxed, we sit on the back porch of their office while drinking coffee and enjoyed some snacks. There, we talked lightly about the courage to face life with its various aspects. The conversation warms up when we talk about how an event or past experience can haunt a person in such a way that something that actually does not exist but like shackling a footstep to move forward or holding us to move to a new page. It can be many forms; trauma, phobia, nightmares, fear, hurt, hatred, resentment, and others.

As we are enjoyed the discussion about it, a cat walked slowly and sat under a chair. For a few minutes, the cat just sat there motionless.

“Look at the cat, like us, his shadow moving following him, now he stops and his shadow stops. It is similar to us humans, wherever we go in all aspects of life, our shadow always exists and follows, but it exists outside of our true self, only beyond. The shadow exists because the cat is there, because we are there, but our shadow in the conference room above is no longer there, and if it still exists, it must be the image we keep, we take care of, and we give it energy to keep is there in our mind, and it will become more powerful if we continue to pay attention and follow their will. Is not it strange if our shadow in the conference room this afternoon, or our shadow in the toilet also still join us here? We move from the meeting room to here because we are bored and tired to be still there and now we sit here, then why do not we get bored with all the shadows of the past? Is that not weird?”

  2. The path through tomorrow is always fraught with things we cannot forget. I would only have added the sometimes button. Sometimes the articles of the past haunt me. I focus, meditate and seek a new path to rid myself of that frustrations.

  3. Yes, there are some wounds in life that don’t bleed. I have post traumatic stress. That is not a choice, its a pattern of reactions to physical and mental violence.
Situation has passed but sometimes events trigger the memories. I try and counteract, but then I am human.
I suppose its given me an understanding on certain human elements in life and hopefully through that I can help some people or even just listen.

    • Thank you for your openness, Pamela. Bad experiences often make an impression on the mind. To overcome it, regardless of what the outcome is an important lesson, as well as the willingness to help people based on our various experiences.

  4. Another thought-provoking post! I believe that we need to learn how to move on without forgetting the experiece we gained by the mistakes we’ve made.

  5. I can tell sad events to go away, and it works for a while. I know it is senseless to hold on to the past. There is no benefit! Great post Albert!
