For 11 years I not only traveled, but I was often overseas. Two weeks and twice three weeks were the longest trips. My dad traveled when I was younger. But his trips were often two or three months. Some of the locations I traveled to, Malaysia and Europe I went many times. I was in France (Paris 4 times and the south of France once) Italy twice (Rome and Milan), London and Dublin multiple times. All of these trips included at least a day I could wanter around the cities. They were, however, all solo trips. In that period, I didn’t think about the reality of home. I always thought about the reality of where I was at the moment and of course, missed where I wasn’t at that time.
Do you consider the tone of home? The resonance, the very sound that comes from your house? I know I have ever since Albert posted his wonderful piece on our tone as people. Yes, we as people have tones with each other. But does your home have a tone as well? Do you feel the resonance in your home as you stand in the doorway? Certainly when the moment is wrong, and the resonance is off, we feel that as well. Have you ever walked into a room of your house and knew that something is wrong? No words are spoken no tears are falling, but you know that something is wrong. Something isn’t right, and you know from the very resonance of the room.
I think our lives, our homes and the world around us as a tone. I know, that I relax and enjoy the world more when I can be on the water. That quiet, peaceful reality of water makes me happy. I don’t need anything else, just the quiet! Sometimes my home has other energies, other tones that make me uncomfortable. Discord and anger create a different noise within the home. I thought through Albert’s post on the tone we take with others around us. I realized that there is more than interaction with people. I know the tone my dog takes with me. When he first sees me. His day is better because I am home. I know he missed me, and misses his walk. That resonance meets my heart. What is the sound in your home that makes your smile?

We have birds here waking us up in the morning, we don’t need an alarm clock.
That is always a wonderful way to wake up in the morning!
yup, we would know if it is time to wake up they will start chirping. so cool. I suspect they are ducks.
Yes I feel things in my house, hard to explain. Not really noises but a presence. I feel my Dad. I feel my son. And other other ones.
There is always the warmth of the family at home. It is how we move through the world. Thanks for sharing that Carol!
