We had a little meeting this morning. I wondered if others had been doing some things independently. As it turns out there have been some things going on. Grandpa and the boys refurbished 10 bicycles and dropped them off at the houses in the dark of the night with a bow and a note that read “Hope we see you riding around the neighborhood.”
I had sent out 20 offers to do things, but am I waiting for responses. So those don’t count. I included an addressed and stamped envelope for the responses. (That method might not work.) I have not heard back from any of them.
We called Dominoes Pizza and paid for the next 20 pizzas that were ordered. They were excited and called me back to ask if they could put a card on it that said only “pay it forward every chance you get.” I had to call and ask the grandsons and they said yes.
Domino’s called back and asked for the boys’ mailing address so they could thank them. I thought that was really nice of them.
The next project we worked on together. No one here can visit any of the nursing homes right now. So they figured out how many nursing homes there are in their city. They called each one and asked what they could send with a card to the residents. They were fantastic. They said if you can provide the card, we will do an appropriate treat for each resident. It was a big job. We made 432 cards. They have not decided if they should get to count each card or just count each nursing home as one. I told them it was their choice. I have not heard back.
So there could be two different tallies and they aren’t going to remove the beans until that decision is made.
I didn’t understand the remove the bean comment. Apparently, Grandpa with some help from his friends, made a jar so they could see the beans move as they granted wishes. So they are either at 462 or 37! It will be interesting what they choose. I told them to borrow their Mom’s phone and take a picture of the jar when they decide.

This is a wonderful idea of how we can unite in the name of a good cause.
It’s a wonderful project. There are few people today who would be willing to help others.
I am finding that people are interested in being a part of it and I love that.
Part of our challenge was figuring out things we could do together and as a family so we went a slightly different way.
I love this! Pay it forward is the mantra I live by!
It’s always a good idea to tweak things to make them work for you. You have awesome common sense.
well thank you again for a wonderful idea, my wife loves it and is sharing it with her coworkers. My daughter made a beautiful calligraphy wish book for us!
Now that made me smile bigger than I have in weeks.
you are the inspiration! not the first time you’ve given me a great idea!
Lovely to see people like you helping others, it gives hope to many..
We are becoming closer as a family as well. I think it’s a win-win. And thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment.
That is a pleasure Ghostwriter …
This sounds like a wonderful project! Good luck with it! And yes, keep us updated!
I am glad that people are taking an interest. I think it may help to keep inspiring my grandsons.
You are a busy lady. What wonderful things you are doing. We are trying to help the victims of the storms, many lost everything.
If I don’t stay busy I tend to wander around and get into trouble!
Hey, do they have a link or website to help those people? Perhaps the boys would like part of their wishes to be there!
oh waoo look at the nice bicycle!
I hope the children who get them will enjoy them.
hmm, Yess Right Ghostwriterr..
