Continuing with Alibb’s Alphabet Crazy challenge. The letter U brought an odd photo from my archives. The patio umbrella managed to land on the roof one summer day. The winds picked up out of nowhere. The umbrella went straight up on the roof.
Got some help getting it down. Thankfully it was not damaged. Very lucky it was safe.
The weather can often be very unpredictable and we have to always be aware when we are outside.

wow. Ok first miracle that the umbrella blown by the wind was not damaged.
I am not sure I have ever seen anything quite that strange. Thanks, Carol, glad it all worked out ok but have to say, the picture made me laugh!
I know, I was so relieved the umbrella was not damaged. Glad you enjoyed Doc!
it is an impressive picture and story!
wonderful capture Indeed , thank you for sharing
Thank you for commenting.
My post on U was also the umbrella. I have finished with all the alphabets a long time ago.
I no longer use a folded umbrella as with the lest breeze it turns
This is my patio table umbrella, very large. Amazing it is in one piece.
I participate in other challenges, so it takes a little longer to complete. And there has been no rush.
I know that you are into many other challenges Carol. I have yet to take interest in several of those.
That is amazing it looks like Mary Poppins landed on your roof and left her umbrella behind
It was amazing and I had not thought of Mary Poppins! 🙂
This is a very unusual event. You were just in the right place and captured a great picture.
It really was, the wind was very strong that day. Glad that wasn’t me up there!
I would not want to be the one having to retrieve the umbrella!
I had someone with a ladder retrieve it safely.
And it is all in one piece. Good to see you by the way!
Interesting picture, dear Carol … the umbrella hasn’t really taken me to the roof yet
Thanks, it was one of those freak things of nature.
We often have such a strong wind that you can’t use an umbrella … if you don’t take it, you turn it
We have had the occasional loose stuff flying in strong winds but never an umbrella. That must have been quite the experience…You are going to surpass me soon although I am waiting for approval for my letter V…
Yes it kind of scared me because I thought it would be damaged but it survived.
Looks like the tip of the umbrella is stuck in the roof. Nothing like that had ever happened in my place, but the roof tile was flying because of strong winds.
Thankfully this was gotten down in one piece. The roof had to be replaced last year.
I considered myself lucky. Glad I wasn’t up there on the roof!
