Have you ever seen something, someone, a smell, a sound, and it triggered a thought? Triggering occurs when something causes a positive or negative emotional response. The emotional response can be fear, sadness, panic, flashbacks, as well as any physical symptoms associated with these emotions. You never know when it may happen. I will talk more about the PTSD side of this issue in another post.
For now I am talking about happy triggers. Every one I get, I embrace. I saw this little red and yellow car at the entrance of a store. I was immediately taken back to when Dustin was 3 years old. He loved these little cars and would say, one more time Momma, one more time. Great memories.

One sound that sets my happy trigger is hearing the sound of a train horn or seeing railroad tracks on the streets.
That is great that you have happy triggers.
Because my late dad used to work in the railroad business.
Great post, thank you for sharing the sweet memory with us. Great photo too! I am sure I have some triggers, just can’t think of any at the moment.
Thank you for reading Courtney, it was a great memory.
I suspect most of Virliy knows my triggers. I share them all the time 🙂 Great post Carol~
Yes you have pretty much put things out for us to read, which I enjoy. If I can keep the bad triggers away life would be great.
When my grandfather died I tried. I came to realize that the gift of memories is to turn bad triggers into ok thoughts. They will never be good thoughts, but at least you can take some of their power!
Yes I am taking my power back there are just things that will never change but I am good.
I am glad to hear that Carol. The beauty you share, helps many beyond you, you deserve a smile as well!!!
So kind of you Doc, I appreciate your support.
Good memory always a happy triggers.
That is what I strive for daily.
That’s true, sometimes something small triggers some of the most special memories.
Yes Ellie and I try to stay on the positive side of life.
This is an important thing to say. I often feel this other than seeing how people are triggered by something too…
Yes and there is a down side but I try to look ahead at brighter days and happy memories.
I am usually triggered by something because of a certain sensitivity and usually, it is inevitable even though it does not always invoke certain emotions.
My negative ones are loud noises, caught off guard always.
That means there is a great guard who serves you, good conscience.
Certain songs are big triggers for me but could be both negative and positive.
Absolutely understand and the same for me as well.
just push negative thoughts, in each case, have positive thoughts at a time
I try every single day to do this.
Good triggers is all i want to think about. I know you do too!!!
Absolutely LaJenna, pushing the negative to the side for now.
