One thing I was thinking about yesterday that is sort of technology related but sort of not technology related. We have a go bag on the boat. I also have a go back in our three cars. A go bag has a first aid kit, food, and blankets as well as other emergency supplies. We have one in all three cars in case someone gets stuck and well, has to survive. That got me thinking about the stuff we store in our cars. That got me wondering what other safety stuff people carry in their cars. Or perhaps not just safety. For example, all of our cars have an umbrella in the door. Why? Because once on my way to a meeting in a suit I got drenched.
That got me thinking about the things in the car. I have a small figure in my car (Flash from the movie Zootopia). I have a radar detector in my car that I can’t use half the time, because radar detectors are illegal in the state of Virginia. I am not even sure I should have one in my car honestly, I do, but it isn’t plugged in or turned on. I also have a phone holder and two USB charging ports in my car.
What other things do you carry in your car (share in the comments)?
The one thing I realized I no longer carry is a map. I used to, for years, have maps folded up and stored in the glovebox. Now I have two or three devices with me most of the time that have both GPS and maps built in. I also used to carry extra shoes in my car (and I could not for the life of me tell you why.) I don’t anymore. I still have an emergency rain jacket in the car. The last safety thing I have is a jump start backup battery.
Amazing how things change over time!

I don’t have a car so I don’t have anything in it. I don’t drive because I am blind in one eye. I do carry a lot of stuff with me when I do out though
I am seriously thinking about going back to a rolling bag. I am carrying too much stuff and my shoulders hurt!
We have to stay prepared for whatever may happen. So many unknowns.
I agree My dad always told me two things, think about what can happen next and prepare for all the variables.
I don’t have a car, I have a bicycle and I always bring a raincoat and towel there. LOL
I do not blame you – always smart to be prepared.
