One of the products I have on my desk is the Logitech BCC950 conference camera. It does not take up much desk space (which I don’t have a lot of, anyway) and works well with my Work computer. It is easy to set up and includes both the base, camera but also a remote. The camera can be on an eye level stalk or directly on the base. I use the stalk because it lets me look directly into the camera during calls. I have seen other people with this device use the camera directly on the base. The camera will rotate about 180 degrees allowing you to share most of a conference room. IT doesn’t have some of the cooler features of the fancy conference systems such as following the speaker. Camera systems that have that capability are expensive.
The most important part of a video conferencing system is the speaker. I have two currently and the BCC950 has an awesome speaker. I have used it in the media room of our basement and my office. In both cases, it has a great speaker that fills the space. It is also equipped with two microphones. That means that the people you are talking to can hear you. I do find, having tested the device in the media room, that if you are 8 or more feet from the Microphone, it doesn’t work as well. Again the camera also doesn’t track to a speaker if you have two or more people on the call. It means you have to check your room and the video camera placement to get everyone on screen.
In my office that is a lot easier, as there is only one person on the camera. The speaker works well for my office space. There is a remote for the camera and the speaker. You can mute the line, increase the volume or turn the camera left and right (again you are limited to 180 degrees on turning the camera. I have used many professional systems and honestly, this is the best one I have found for home offices. It is significantly less expensive than the 1000 dollar conference room systems you can buy. Overall it is a great addition to your home office if you are often on video calls. It works with Skype, Skype for Business, Jabber, WebEx, Zoom, and BlueJeans (those are the ones’ I’ve tried overall). My rating of the Logitech BCC950 is 9 out of 10!

Logitech products are freaking awesome! Just ask my kids. I wouldn’t even know the brand if it weren’t for them.
They do a great job, I prefer other headsets to the Logitech ones, but only carry and use their conference and keyboard/mice.
You are a true technical guru.
Thank you so much, kind words indeed!
Cool review, Doc. I only do video calls from home but not video conference.
Yeah, I am in the sam about. I do work from home at least 1-2 days a week, so I need something for both personal and work video calls!
