My smoke bush planted in the front garden is starting to bloom. The unique blooms is where it gets it name, smoke bush. They actually look like puffs of smoke. Kind of cool. There are always bird nests inside this bush. I keep it trimmed to about five feet tall but the birds find their way inside and are camouflaged by the foliage.
This is another favorite as it is a perennial. It gets cut back in the fall then returns in the spring.

I had a smoke bush in my parents home. Wish I could have one of my own now.

Yes the blooms do attract bees and birds. Here is a post showing the blooms. They have not appeared this year as of yet…
