Simple Solution Series ~ First Drink of the Day

Do you drink at least 64 ounces of water during the day? If you don’t want to wake up dehydrated that is the minimum the average-sized person would have to drink during the waking hours, not just before bed, to avoid waking up dehydrated. So what should your first drink of the day truly be? According to the experts a Cornell University it should be an eight-ounce glass of tepid water.

They suggest it be by the bedside and after your wake up routine you drink your first 8 ounces of the day.  This was not an easy feat for me. I like a nice cup of tea or coffee in the morning. After about three weeks it had become something that seemed more automatic. It also delayed me drinking anything else for the first hour or so and that was probably a good thing.

I also switch to all decaffeinated drinks. After I learned that for every caffeinated beverage you drink, you need to drink three times that just to break even.  So three cups of coffee would require 6 cups of water. Decaffeinated quickly seemed like a better choice.

I have noticed a reduced number of headaches since I changed to this way of hydrating. It seems like a good choice for me.
