We get used to taking our bodies seriously – if we get sick, we go to the doctors to apply the right treatment.

It is also with the soul, just we are used to ‘self-dealing’ or asking for medication to calm down, reduce the discomfort we feel, which is not always a good solution.

I do not want to say that this is not the right solution, but medicines do not heal our soul wounds. Yes, they do make us feel better, but they do not take out the ‘roots’ of the problem.

If we have a toothache – we can take painkillers – they relieve the pain and we feel better, but the tooth does not repair and when the effects of the medication disappear, the pain returns. Then you still have to eliminate the cause – tooth repair.

And so with our inner world – sometimes you really need medication when you have a particularly serious condition, but it is already recognized in all developed countries that it has a much better effect along with psychotherapeutic treatment.

But very often there is no need for medication – anxiety, fears, phobias, eating disorders, depressed mood, etc. are easily overcome with psychotherapy. And eliminating the cause of discomfort plus the person gets a lot of skills on how to deal with future challenges for themselves.
