Privet Bark ~ Day 201

I talked about my golden Privet hedge the other day with all the blooms and bees. You can see it here: Privet Bee if you are interested. Today I wanted to share the actual foundation of the hedge and the bark underneath the hedge. It started out a very small plant and it is still growing about seven feet tall this year. Amazed at the thickness of the trunk and the pretty bark. This is a good sign that it will keep growing. it has a strong foundation. You never see this unless you almost get under the hedge to look at it. I was looking at the bees and happened to see it and snapped a photo.

  1. The privet hedge my late husband planted for his mom in Illinois is over 60 years old was still looking good on Google Earth the last time I checked. Do you know how old yours is?

    • Funny that you noticed Albert. I have no idea what that is. I saw it on my computer after taking the photo and tried figuring it out. The hedge has no fruit, only blooms. It has to be the underside of a leaf. I plan to go out and check it out today because now I am curious!
