Piódão is considered one of the most beautiful places in my the country, classified as “Historical Village of Portugal”. From my place we took about 1 hour and 30 minutes driving to get there.
Piódão is a mountain village, a rural area with difficult accesses, an excellent example of how humans have adapted over the centuries to the most inhospitable places.
Its typical schist and blackboard houses, with painted blue wood windows, gracefully descend the hillside, forming an amphitheater in this steep mountain, and is often called the “nativity village”.
It is a great place to spend some time with our family as the surrounding nature is almost intact, and we can see in the region several species of fauna and flora typical of the place.

Nice one, hope to be there one day soon.
You look stunning. We do not have such villages in our country so I would be glad to visit this village.
I never fail to visit a cultural spot when I go abroad.
I also try to visit cultural and historical places when I visit a new place.
Lovely photos of a place I have never seen before, in New Zealand we don’t have this type of history on the scale you have.
In my country, there are many historical places to visit. We like to do these trips with our kids, it helps them to learn a lot about our culture and history.
I would have loved to visit Portugal and a few other countries but I have stopped travelling now.
I am sure you would love this place, it is calm and very relaxing.
I have not visited your country but would like to one day, along with many others.
There are so many beautiful places to visit in our world, I am sure you would love it.
I haven’t visited Piodão yet but everyone who visit it like it a lot.
It is a good place to visit, try it one of these days.
I live in a historical city. Targoviste has been the former capital of Romania for 400 years.
That is amazing I don’t think we have anything like that here in New Zealand, I would love to see some of it.
That is great, I am sure you love to live there.
