Nature Tuesday ~ Swan, a white fairy bird

Swans are goose-like water birds of white color. The humpback swan is known to practically every one of us. It is characterized by an orange beak with a black coat of arms. Its habitat is slow rivers or stagnant freshwater areas. It gathers food – the aquatic vegetation at the bottom of rivers and lakes – by immersing itself under the water with the front of the body and the extended neck while the back of the body looks out of it. In most major lakes and along rivers near towns and pubs, swans are fed with old bread. All these swans are wintering here. And what if the water freezes? The swans circulate, stirring the water for as long as they can keep the “islet” of water in the ice, but if it freezes, they occasionally move.                                                                                                                                                   The White Swan is a symbol of innocence, sincerity, honesty, and purity.
