Sharing a Marigold bloom from my garden. You can look closely and see a tiny raindrop. These blooms are a great addition to your garden. I love the different colors and varieties. And it has a fragrance that repels insects. It is great to plant this around your garden to keep pests and predators away.
I do not have a vegetable garden, so I have these in my container garden on my deck. Butterflies enjoy them. Marigold blossoms are edible. But no, I do not eat any of the blooms in my yard. And are also called poor man’s saffron.
Some trivia about marigolds… In the late 1960s, Burpee (seed company) president David Burpee launched a campaign to have marigolds named the national flower, but in the end, Roses won.

I love your photo! And yes, I have noticed the drop
Thank you so much, I love my garden and all the blooms. Good you see the raindrop.
The Marigold flower looks wonderful on this site.
Yes it does, and in my garden too. Love this flower.
I have noticed that you like flowers a lot.
Marigolds are beautiful, also in your photos.
There is a philosophical message here, the popularity usually wins over other reasons. But why?
Thanks, I like the different varieties as well. Popularity often wins. Not sure why in this case. Maybe the supply and demand. They are very plentiful. And many colors and varieties to choose from.
marigolds also feature prominently in Dia de los Muertos traditions…
You know I had to look that up. I see what you did there. And I learned something…
I figure with marigolds and monarchs, it would have something for you
I first noticed a drop of water ?
Oh good, thank you! 🙂
hmm yes, I know that the color is very carol.
You are very kind, thank you.
I love its bright orange colour!
Didn’t know you could eat them :p
Yes and some use them in their tea. But I pass.
I know that the color of calendula is very used in medicine and perfumery. It’s great to have it in your garden.
Yes I have read about the benefits as well. I love these blooms.
Wow, spring is definitely there in your corner of the world. Beautiful marigolds and I hope you will post some roses pictures (unless you did already and I have not seen). Here it is stll in the low teens to mid teens only. Even the trees are slow in getting some leaves in and that is even if the Canadian geeses are back in droves from their southern migration.
Yes it is finally getting here. Many more blooms to come. I did post a few rose posts and there will be many more. Thank you! Would love to see the Canadian geese.
