The spider with a cross is very easy to recognize because of the signs on the back of it, signs which, in fact, give it its popular name. Thus, spiders have a cross formed and surrounded by several white points on their backs. This spider is a weaver spider and therefore hunts its prey with the help of web that measures even 40 cm in diameter. This web has a spherical shape and the spider is in the center of it detecting the vibrations of the web with their legs. If an insect gets caught in the web, the spider packs the prey into silk and then consumes it.

What a great macro!!! You have a very impressive picture of a spider.
Thank you for sharing this blog about spiders.
You are wery welcome! It looks like an interesting topic!?
Spiders are very interesting creatures.
Spiders are very interesting to observe
Indeed! We can learn from them. Have you ever noticed how they are waving their web?
I have watched them in the act of “spinning” their webs and it is fascinating.
Awesome macro. Correct me if I’m wrong, only female spiders eat other spiders.
Thank you! You are right! As I know, the female spider eats its partner right after mating. But I have to tell you that I’m not an insect specialist. What I post is strictly what I see through the camera lens. ?
Neither am I.
You are great with your camera though. 🙂
Amazing to learn about and watch these spiders. Great macro as always.
It’s amazing to look at the world through camera lens. I started to notice things that I do not pay attention to before! I learned a lot during this time.
While I am not fond of spiders these are great pictures!
I think nobody loves spiders. I do not love them but I like to photograph them because they are interesting.
Very nice photo of the spider.
Thank you very much! I’m glad you like these photos.
