Maco Monday – Butterfly taking sunbath

Being considered flying flowers of nature, the butterflies are surely the most loved insects. We see them flying from bloom to bloom in search of the nectar necessary for their existence! In order to fly, butterflies need a body temperature of 29 degrees celsius. Knowing that butterflies are cold-blooded animals, they can not adjust their own body temperature. That’s why in the cool autumn days, when the temperature drops below 12 degrees Celsius, they sat immobile for a long time … and we can get closer to take photos. I have found this beauty in the Chindia Park. I think this is painted lady(Vanessa cardui) butterfly but I am not sure. I almost did not see it. It has been well camouflaged among the fall leaves.
