Sharing an edited photo with the Black & White Friday challenge. This Day Lily’s original color is yellow. I enjoy the bright sunshine yellows. But I also like seeing this one in black and white. It gives a subtle image and makes me pause more to look at this image.
In life we should all take a pause more often. Think about things from a different perspective. You might be surprised at what you come up with. Stripping things down to basic is a good place to start, I call it peeling back the layers.
Which is probably the reason why I work exclusively in black and white… to highlight that contrast. ~ Leonard Nimoy

Superb work always Carol. Nice picture
The contrast in Black and White pictures is incredible. I love looking at old black and white pictures. But this one is really cool, You captured the flower perfectly!
I agree with you, it is amazing how i miss a lot of details seeing them in color. Thanks!
It actually brought the flower to life.
It often is determined what you show in black and white
I agree with you Pam. I love sunsets in full color for example.
Black and white seems to show texture better than color.
Yes so many details in most of them as well.
I like what my brother said about it. It is very dramatic.
Yes it can produce drama for sure.
Although the image is black and white, it’s still beautiful.
Thank you very much.
Also, the black and white picture has its own charm, but I still prefer the color … from B & W I like the only Whiskey haha
Yes I prefer many photos in color as well. Every now and then, for the challenge for example, I edit to black and white.
It’s really interesting sometimes
I agree with Leonard Nimoy and see it clearly in this flower.
That quote just spoke to me. 🙂
That’s great! …and in time, it will also lead us to see behind black and white.
As always I agree with you.
I like the contrast in B&W, sometimes it helps in seeing the shades… Really nice!
Thanks appreciate your comment.
I like lilies. I have pots with red and white lilies. They have not blossomed yet but it’s not time yet! It looks great in B&W.
Thanks for your comment. Lilies are the best. Mine have not blossomed this year either. An old photo here.
