Here’s something little for Macro Monday. I think the fly provides an interesting contrast to the beautiful lily since a bee or a butterfly would be a more expected match. I don’t know, it may be just in my head. π

Did you know that male flies have a particular area in their eyes that’s used to detect potential female partners?

Awesome! How did you get so close to your object (the fly) and took a macro shot. Wow!
Thank you so much! It turned out to be a very patient fly.
Oh my, what a great shot, and I did not know that about the eyes. I don’t know much about them.
I just found it out when I was looking for some interesting information to include in the poll.
I have learned a lot that way, and by trying to id flowers.
Amazing picture Ellie, absolutely fantastic macro.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I took it with my phone and I was surprised that the fly was so patient with me.
That is a wonderful capture,
Thank you very much, Rasma Sandra!
You better now check eyes of the man. Who knows they too must be having such an area (lol)
They probably do but male scientists don’t want to make this information public, lol.
Great picture. I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! I am trying to add some fun facts when I can.
I knew nothing about flies. Wonderful macro
Thank you so much! π
Incredible macro and contrast. I did not know about the spots in their eyes.
Thank you so much, Carol! I took it with the phone.
The picture is really beautiful, dear Ellie
Thank you so much, dear Lado! I took it with the phone.
This is a great picture, dear Ellie …. all my pictures are taken with the phone
Most of mine too except for moon photos and some bird photos.
Great photo! I read something about “love spot” in male flies eyes, but I think all “males” have a spot in their eyes!ππ
Thank you, I took it with the phone. Haha, that’s a good point about males.
