I am sure my son will remember Fibonacci when he sees a list of numbers as shown in the picture. I don’t remember learning Fibonacci when I was in school, but I have always read about it when I browsed the Internet when I was working. One of my friends told me the wonder of Fibonacci and it can be related to stock market investment as well, though I had totally no idea how they can be related. I am still not very familiar with Fibonacci, but I think it’s time to introduce this great mathematician and the number sequence to my eldest son.
I started with giving him a Math problem, the famous rabbit problem posed and solved in Fibonacci’s book, Liber Abaci. I let him figure out the number of pairs of rabbit will be after three years, and had him written down in a table format for each month. I didn’t expect the “rabbits” grow so rapidly and hit millions already. After the tabular format, I also asked him to draw it in a graph format. I then briefly introduced the mathematician, Leonardo of Pisa or more commonly known as Fibonacci, to my son.
I am going to find out more activities related to Fibonacci numbers, and I have to go and study more too. I find all these number patterns very interesting. Math would be more interesting if I was taught these in school.

Yes, I remember them, the lonely number, no friends, no relative…haha!
Why lonely number? Because they will never meet each other again?
I did not do this in school days.
Thanks for sharing. I think we didn’t as well.
We did this in school years ago.
It’s good to know you learned this in school. I think some schools teach this, I am not sure if ours nowadays teach this as well.
