The explosion
filled
the room with red.
The red growing outward
hot and uncomfortable
the very sound of the red
turning eyes inward to see
what
was no longer there.
The red, like water
hitting the floor
and spreading
filled the cracks in
on
of the floor
expanding to
create more cracks
more
and more
until
the red drowned out
the blue
or orange
leaving only the heat
and red.
Eyes closed we cannot see
beyond the sea of red…
