Hindsight Bias

This bias is very common. In fact, some label this as simple human nature. When looking back on a situation people often feel like they knew the outcome and probable issues before it happened.  Look back on most things bring clarity and still with a bias as view it naturally to benefit what sounds and feels right to the individual.

A great example is a child who shouts out an an answer and suddenly realizes it is wrong. He quickly reacts “Oh, I knew that. I just said it wrong.

    • Oh my goodness I have failed. The whole point of all the posts on bias is to point out that they are neither good or bad. If you simply recognize them then you can make adjustments and clear the thought.

      • Nah, it’s probably just me.

I’m just too biased towards the word bias … that I tend to associate it in a negative way…

I do know I get biased but at the same time I feel quite helpless about dropping it.

  1. It’s similar to ‘single-minded’, I think. I believe when I used to fact and truth-based evidence, before declaring my conclusions, I will always do and say the truth, as a principle and practice in life. If my memory is a bit questionable and blurry about certain things, I’d always :1. Admit it to myself; 2. investigate myself and see the balance of everything; 3. If I’m wrong, based on facts and truth, I’d admit it openly.

I’m biased towards the truth, the right and the good. I guess, that’s a good thing. 🙂
