Have you gone through hard times in your life? I have. When I look back on that time, I think it made me stronger. I have learned the truth of the old saying that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. It taught me self-control, independence and wisdom. I have learned that everything is possible to those who think they can.
What about you? Would you play the poll below to show that you can; that anything is possible? And please do leave your comments. You can find other polls by me here.

Yes, it was an interesting poll, showing us that God does not leave us during adversity, but is there with us, helping us to be tested, and ‘pruned” so we might grow more healthy, and provide more fruit for him then too.
The hard times can “shape” us into better people, if we allow them to do so. We can grow either better or bitter, as a result of hard times. It’s far better to grow better, than bitter…LOL…
I agree. Grow better than grow bitter. Some who fail to learn from the lessonsn grow bitter.
Thanks.
Yes, you are right there I think. We should not fear adversity.
Sometimes it’s sent to test us as it was sent to Saint Paul.
We should just do our best, and keep our faith with God, and strengthen ourselves, despite our weaknesses. Sometimes, as in Saint Paul’s case, an ongoing weakness is necessary, it seems.
Thanks. I believe you understand the content of the poll.
Generally I would agree with you here, but I do feel that more is involved in this process of becoming stronger from enduring hardship, and pain, in our lives.
This seems to be a common idea, (What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger) but it seems to me to be missing something vital in it too.
We must have something inside of us to become stronger, otherwise we might be overwhelmed, and give up instead.
We begin with an empty slate of love, hope, and truth, unconsciously alive in us, of which each experience of life consciously changes this unconscious state, making it conscious, so we then begin to view the slate in a new way, as we see what is underneath the covering then, as bits of it are removed as they go/move across to our consciousness.
The dust on the slate is being cleaned away, in other words, so we see more of the truth, which is underneath, consciously then.
And yet this process is not automatic.
It depends on us being consciously aware of God, love, and truth, whilst at the same time, we are retaining our faith in all of these, as these pull us past adversity, and are responsible for moving the unconscious knowing across through to conscious knowing.
Despite whether the experience is hard, painful, or enjoyable, we can still learn the lesson of love in each experience from it then, as long as our attitude remains positive and attached to God by faith.
Faith in God can help you to withstand any adversity. I remember that Paul said: when I am weak then I am strong, because he had a thorn from Satan slapping him continuously but God strengthened him to show him that his undeserved kindness is expressed in weaknesses. So, do not fear adversity; try to relish it and it will make you stronger.
What doesn’t kill us make us stronger, right?
Right. And gives you an experience to reflect on or even share with the younger generation.
