Mourning doves are beautiful. I see them a lot in my backyard. The sound, a short coo sound they make is always easily recognizable. You always knows when they are around. I captured these two in my backyard Poplar tree right at sunset a few days ago.
Sharing this photo with Saturday’s Critter challenge.
You can see Mourning Doves nearly anywhere except the deep woods. Look for them in fields or patches of bare ground, or on overhead perches like telephone wires.

country, but they were obviously crowded????………
I enjoy all of the backyard birds.
In my neighborhood we used to have a lot of pigeons
Never had those here thankfully, they are very messy.
I love birds and I love feeding them if I can. Unfortunately, in some places like Australia, it is prohibited to feed the birds in the wharf because they are known to attack people who eat in al-fresco areas ?
That is too bad when they attack, the ones in my backyard are not aggressive.
I haven’t experienced that yet but feeding birds and fishes is something I enjoy. Less intimidating compared to feeding a giraffe or elephant or monkey.
i heard doves mating. lol ???
Not sure if I have heard them or if they are in these parts.
Sometimes there were many pigeons in our country, but they were obviously crowded with crows
I heard it in my imagination, remembering that the bird was not around me.
They woke me up with my crap every morning before I started working like a night shift.
Love how you compost your photos!
Another stunning capture of silhouette!
Thank you, taken from my deck.
