There is no one who is happy 100% of the time. There are irritations, tragedies, grudges, events and bitterness that visits on occasion. There are people who are consistently happy and it more about the habits they create than the things that are happening in their life. You are more in control of your own personal happiness than you might think.
Happy people are grateful for what they have.
Most of us have things to be grateful for everyday, and do we take the time to think about that and show gratitude and pay back. I think this is something that I can definitely improve on. I used to write a gratitude list every night right before I went to sleep. I am thinking that it might be time revive that habit.
Happy people typically get up early.
That is a given for me, and still it doesn’t mean that I use that early morning time to set my day up for happiness. I am going to put some thought into how my first thoughts in the morning set me for a day of happiness.
Happy people love to learn
I guess because I am a teacher learning is something that I am always striving to do. I am great at learning the facts and yet I lack the wisdom to use it wisely. If I want to be a truly happy person I am going to start stepping up and using the things I learn to better myself and those around me.
Happy people are kind
This is another one that sometimes I lack. There are thousands of opportunities each day to be kind and I am lucky if I find five. So I think that number must increase tenfold.

My opinion is that those who have everything are not too happy
Being happy becomes easier when you accept others as they are and when you understand some things can’t be changed ?.
I’d be happier if I woke up early, as long as I wouldn’t feel tired, I guess.
I should work on that, for sure. ?
I think another habit that makes you happy is to accept whoever you are and whatever you get and be aware that everything happens for a reason. It can be seen as a link between being grateful and willing to learn.
You make some great points. Do you really think everything happens for a reason? Like there is some kind of cosmic plan?
I don’t really believe in destiny or cosmic plans (except karma), but it’s more of an “every cloud has a silver lining” thing. What we face during our journey should bring us a step closer to knowing who we are, our identity and purpose, individually or as a whole. And, of course, what doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger.
Happiness is hard to define and may mean different things for different people.
So I am interested. What is your definition of happiness?
How much time do you have? I would need to write a post to explain my version of happiness. A few examples of happiness for me is giving back or doing something for someone else, when I am creating something, when I am spending time with my kids and partner — just to name a few. There are a lot of things that make me happy but I am not consistently happy and I don’t think anyone is who lives in the real world. As you rightly said no one is happy 100% of the time, but I do feel I am content and that makes me happy too.
Happy people usually don’t need a lot of material things.
So do you believe that works in reverse as well? That people who have a lot of material things can’t be truly happy?
Happiness is a very relative thing …. one gets to congratulate one thing on someone else but quite another thing … happiness is not for everyone the same
Sometimes I have very happy to be a grumpy #$#@#$#@$@# is that what you mean?
I do not understand well what you wanted to say dear friend
