Bromelia only blooms once in a lifetime ~ Macro Monday

It is one of the largest bromeliads and is especially attractive because of its large beautiful gray-silver leaves, sprinkled with white-gray pollen. The leaves form a leaf rosette that is expected to be full of rainwater throughout the year. Bromelia only blooms once in its growing season. After flowering, over a period of one year, the leaves dry, while new germinating plants are developed and replaced with old ones. In the homeland, the plant grows in the canopy of trees, protected from direct sun, which is why we are supposed to be providing such conditions. Water in the funnel rosette of the plant in nature, so it is also watered at home in the middle of the funnel. In addition, it can be watered at the edge of the pot, although the role of the roots is to grip it. Namely, the plant gets its food together with water through the leaf pores in the base of the rosette.
