Announcement! We have four bluebird eggs in the backyard house. Yes four! I called four for the maximum. But tomorrow we will see if there are more. I never know from day to day how many eggs I will see when I open the little door on the house. So what about tomorrow? Will there be more eggs? I have no idea. It is totally up to the female. Most males out there already knew that fact.
Bluebird facts of the day:
Bluebirds are family oriented. The courting male dotes on the female, waving his wings, enticing her to select a nest site, and offering her treats. He courageously guards the box during nest construction. He delivers food to the incubating female, and participates equally in feeding nestlings and fledglings. Both parents will die defending their young from House Sparrows. After fledging, young birds tend to stay with their parents, begging for food, and sometimes altruistically helping tend to siblings in a second brood.
Birds have a way of putting things in perspective. They forge ahead and carry on no matter what happens. No dwelling on the past, no regrets, sheer 100% survival..and beauty.~Susan Halpin

You’re going to have to get up WAY earlier if you think you can slide something like that past me…
I knew that. You don’t miss much.

Thanks for your comment.
The excitement and fervency that goes on and on! Also curiosity, of course!
I think this is a wonderful lesson also from bluebird wisdom.
I learn something new each year and this is my seventh year to be doing this.
Huihh… A long enough experience! You earn the right to talk about it!
Thanks Albert it is the highlight of the spring.
Actually this is my eighth year!
Lovely post and great to see Blue birds are happy with the nest. With your care they should do very well.
Thank you Pamela, good to see you. I hope they are all safe.
I think four eggs will be the limit, but stranger things have happened.
Yeah, that’s my guess as well but I hope we’re wrong…
So do I, the more the merrier.
