I turned this photo into a black and white photo. The Waikato river is the longest river in New Zealand. It goes from Waikato heads to lake Taupo, and it is very beautiful, and extremely dangerous.
We stopped one day at Ngaruawhahia and I went for a short walk and here is the view.

Yes, there is more to the river than what it seems. Nice post.
Thanks so much Halcombe….
It is not just the river that looks stunning. I love the bush by the riverside that resembles the overgrown beard of a man.
I love this particular effect you’ve used. You not only have a great eye, your creativity turns the ordinary into something more theatrical, to say the least.
Thanks so much Bradley glad you like it.
the shades of gray becomes the depth of B&W Love the picture Pam!
Thanks so much Doc, pleased you like it.
Lovely in black and white too, the depth is accentuated in this picture.
Thanks so much Dawn…..

Thanks so much Brenda…glad you like it
There could certainly be more to this river than meets the eye. Could there be crocodiles in there? (lol)
No crocodiles unwary swimmers can be caught on other things, such as weed, logs and the current runs at knots…
The swift current is underneath the still water.
Never swim anywhere where you don’t know the place…
That’s a lovely photo, Pamela. That river looks lovely.
