Being in Thailand, we met an amazing family. I am grateful to them for the example of a happy, unbroken family that lives as it wants, are attentive to each other, accepts themselves as they are, allows miracles happen and dreams come true.
And do you know what phrase is most often pronounced by that family’s members: “We are so lucky!” “We are just very lucky!” They told us many stories about their family and their life, and each story started with those few words.
We heard so much gratitude in this “lucky”, no exaggeration of their merits, the severity of responsibility for their lives, but so much acceptance, gratitude, and anticipation of a wonderful future ahead – it’s very contagious!
What is most beautiful and teaching – they so appreciate what they have, in the smallest detail! Today, looking at a photo of this family on Instagram, I read: “Pouring two cups of tea is a lot of happiness…”, and then adds: “I try so hard not to get used to it! These little things are so beautiful! Two cups of tea! Three toothbrushes in a cup. Our shoes, big and small, stand in the hallway. It’s all individually such small joys that create great joy! ”
If I look at the situation more broadly, the most important thing is that now I can say it myself: “I was just so damn lucky!” I think about myself, that I was lucky too! With cups, toothbrushes, a wide bed, meetings at the door with smiles, fun trips by car… how many of such happy moments, these little things, how lucky I am!
After all, lucky are those who notice it, who retains faith in themselves…

Yes

No

I go by the thought that it is not how much we have but what we make of what we have makes us happy or lucky.
I am lucky to be alive, no doubt!
