its nice to see those beautiful habits!!!!!!
For the record, my favorite meat is venison. I like chili peppers but my wife and daughter don’t (except for ‘tamed’ jalapenos), so we don’t have chilis in food. I simply make a volcano sauce that I can use if I want. And my favorite cuisine is Native American, specifically, Cherokee.
I’m very partial to venison too, but it has become quite expensive in latter years, so I end up eating once or twice when in season. I’d love to know more about Cherokee cuisine. Perhaps you’ll make a post some time?
I can certainly write about Cherokee cuisine, though it would be multiple articles since our tribe ate and eats a lot of things. LOL Some of my recipes are highly biased due to Cherokee cooking influences. I just don’t think I’ve specifically written about Cherokee cuisine since I didn’t know that there would be an interest. Now I know. :))
Great poll! It’s fun to see how other’s eat/cook. I chose low carb since that’s how I eat when I am on a diet….but I also chose potatoes as my favorite starch lol.

I use a lot of herbs when I cook, it helps to add flavour and we don’t need to use many salt.
That’s a good point, Nela. If you don’t use any herbs or spices, salt is the only way left to increase the flavour level, and too much salt can be quite deleterious to health.
Interesting to see the results. Though we commonly use most of the herbs mentioned, rosemary is probably the first choice.
That’s interesting about rosemary. It was a big favourite of my mum’s, but I hardly use it outside of when roasting meats, which is a rare occurrence.
I like many kids of food, so it’s hard to choose one favorite cuisine. I also use oregano and thyme together most of the time. I was surprised you didn’t include cinnamon in the spices.
Oregano is my go-to herb and I like it in combination with thyme as well. As to cinnamon, it is not so widely used as a savoury spice, in my experience, but there are many spices I could have included, such as fenugreek, cardamom, cloves, asafoetida… the list is endless!
I missed the part about this only being about savory spices.
Interesting poll! I love spicy food but not too overpowering. I like being able to enjoy all the tastes and flavours of the dish. As for favorite cuisine, it’s hard to tell, but I avoid fried food and I prefer homemade dishes.
I also much prefer home-made food. I am a self-taught cook, but I enjoy making and eating food from many different cuisines 🙂
Interesting poll. I cannot tolerate spicy foods, and am usually in the minority of any crowd. I will eat chicken but prefer salads, vegetables and fruits only. And desserts of course.
I do like spicy foods, but I like plain dishes too. I like food but I’m easy enough to please. However I wouldn’t give a thought to sugar disappearing off the face of the earth 🙂
My favorite cuisine is Southern Balkan mixture of many cuisines. That means very spicy and tasteful dishes and too sweet deserts. If you saw some of Marija 64 recipes, you’ll know what I am talking about. It’s a mixture of Oriental and Mediterranean food with meat instead of fish. 🙂
That sounds very nice, Zaklina. I must look at Marija’s recipes 🙂
By all means. You won’t regret. 😉
I love this topic. I prefer meals with more than one spice, but I can not name them all together. The hand does not hurt me a lot. I hope for a break to be able to visit my friends. I really like the fact that now that I see a profile I see normal size of the posts.
I am glad about your hand, Elenka! also never use just one spice 🙂
Fun poll, I found myself wanted to pick all of the above for number four. lol
Yes, and if you were Portuguese you’d want them all at once in every dinner 😀
lol, Sounds like my kind of place, one way ticket to Portugal!
