GST Road is the arterial road connecting Chennai with south Tamil Nadu. It is a busy road with heavy vehicular movement. Amidst the constant horn and engine sounds of passing vehicles, there are some peaceful spots to relax along the GST road. We have the Vandalur Zoo, one of the largest in India. It houses many big cats including tigers, lions, leopards and white tigers. Then, we have the Kolavai lake near Chengalpattu town. This is a scenic spot to spend time either in the early morning or late evening hours. Finally, we have the Vedanthangal bird sanctuary that takes a drive time of 2 hours to reach from Chennai. During the nesting season, one can spot many exotic birds here. Chennai residents can feel one with nature in any of these picnic spots. The cities need such lung spaces in this industrialized world.
Bird sanctuaries are the best. I love all kinds of birds, as you know.
I would enjoy all those spots I have visited Chennai and spent a few hours at the Marina Beach
All the places are beautiful. I’d rather spend the day by the lake.
The water bodies have a calming influence on the mind.
What a wonderful bird, my friend
During the nesting season, you get to see thousands of them in Vedanthangal.
seems great places indeed

Well said Dawn. Every city needs its lung spaces.
