I have always wanted to see these majestic trees and I had no idea there was a forest so close to San Francisco. It is truly amazing to have this type of natural beauty so close to a big city.
Tips:
- You should go early especially on the weekend or it will be very crowded. There are multiple hiking/walking trails
- Make sure you have an umbrella or rain jacket in the car just in case.
- Be aware that the roads leading up to Muir Woods are VERY curvy.
Most importantly, take some time to just take in the beautify of this forest and appreciate the age of these enormous trees. Most are between 600 – 800 years old!
