The second part of my post devoted to the winter fun in Latvia. Which city/corner of this beautiful country is best suited for winter holidays?
Riga is a charming city, rich in ancient places of interest. Here you can wander through the narrow medieval streets, look at different quaint buildings of different architectural styles, feel the special atmosphere of this unusual city. Be sure to pay a visit to the Old Town/Old Riga – a wonderful place where every stone is literally steeped in history. Take a look at the Dome Cathedral – one of the main sights of Riga. You should also visit the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia, located on the outskirts of Riga, where you can actively relax!
Liepāja is the best place to meet Christmas celebrations. Every year this city becomes more and more fascinating because more and more new festive compositions and decorations of houses and streets are added. Also everybody is invited to Liepāja winter festival!
Sigulda. Small, but very interesting town, where there is something to do and what to see in the winter. Medieval beauty (Turaida Castle and Sigulda New Castle + picturesque ruins) + the place where Olympic team of Latvia (lugers and bobsleigh runners) trains. This bobsleigh track is designed not only to athletes but also to visitors. Winter adrenaline rolls over!
Amazingly, Latvia seems to have a million charms.
Yeah, that’s true!!! It’s beautiful in any time of the year!!!

Soooo beautiful…. Snow (for Asians like me) is really amazement and beautiful.
Very happy for your great comment, maybe this post will inspire you to visit Latvia in winter!!!
I went to Lithuania but it was last April and on my second day there, it snowed. My heart danced with joy
Fantastic almost surreal pictures of grand looking but also quaint looking Latvian cities. All these architectural delights are majestic. If I was not scared of heights and as such flying, I would take the first flight to be able to walk these city’s streets and enjoy winter over there.
Perhaps someday you will be able to decide to give yourself the pleasure and go to Latvia, hope so very much cause it’s worth it!!!
