The summer intensity is waning and the garden with little attention from the gardener has become a symphony of reds, purples and greens. It climbs outside its boundaries and reaches for the limbs of trees and the tall stalks of frostweed.
Some of my favorite plants are fighting each other for attention. The morning glories of all different colors and sizes are exploding in blooms of violets and pinks, absent is the heavenly blues from last year. The Yellow blooms of the candlestick plants are just about to show the reason they call them candlestick plants. Even the popcorn senna came back from last year and the air is filled with a buttery fragrance.
Someone else would describe it as a mess, the neighborhood watch will be reporting me soon, I’m sure, but for now it’s beautiful how nature breaks out of its boundaries. It’s awkward and messy, unkempt and beautiful and the artist in me allows its space to become the work that it is.
Only for a season will the vibrant colors attract butterflies and birds to pollinate and than the final processes of death and renewal will disperse new seeds to the soil..
Not sure how I missed these beauties Steve. They are all incredible.
All wanting your attention. Miss your photography.
